Working as a multidisciplinary artist for over a decade; primarily as a tattoo artist but also using watercolours, charcoals and printmaking, I’ve recently taken up oil painting as a means of loosening up my practice. Compared to these more precise mediums, oil paint allows me to create more organic, expressive pieces.

Throughout all the various mediums, still life has always been a key element to my work, allowing me to highlight a solitary focal point of objects I often find around the home I’ve created with my partner, throughout day to day life or moments from my past. The freedom of oil painting, in comparison to more rigid art forms, means I’m able to capture the sense of calm and comfort I find within these objects and their environment at the times when life feels quiet enough to notice them.

One of my favourite things is the sense of community here at Assembly House! As I've experimented with new mediums and ideas I've found everyone to be incredibly generous with their time and knowledge. Always willing to help out and so supportive! Being able to work alongside artists who are so open has made a huge impact both on my art practice and my attitude towards it!
